About the Activity:

Nestled in the rolling hills of South India, our Plantation Trails Bungalow are located in the vicinity of popular holiday destinations. But many of our guests hardly venture out once they arrive – there's just so much to do right here!

Arabidacool Bungalow, Chikmagalur

Indulge in the frills and fancies of plantation life near the misty hills of Chikmagalur at the Arabidacool Bungalow. Built in 1914, the sprawling property is the perfect retreat from the chaos of city life. Situated close to Baba Budan Giri, the birthplace of Indian Arabica coffee, there could be no better place to truly enjoy the Bean to Cup coffee tour. At 4000 feet above sea level, it's your chance to take a walk in the clouds.

Accommodation

Guests have a choice between Heritage and Luxury rooms. All rooms have en suite bathrooms and splendid views. The bungalow has a common living room (with Cable TV) as well as a dining room, where you can dine in true plantation style.

Dining

Our kitchen, supervised by the planters' wives, serves delicious and healthy local cuisine as well as North Indian, Continental and Jain fare - all with that special home-made touch!

In & Around Arabidacool

Go on a safari at the neighboring Bhadra Tiger Reserve, trek up Mullayanagiri (the highest peak in the Baba Budan Range) and discover the architectural wonder of the 16th century temples of Belur and Halebeedu. Or simply relax with a book from our private library, throw in a game of carom or scrabble, enjoy a barbecue by the bonfire and, of course, take a guided tour of the plantation

Light warm clothes for the day, topped with a jacket for cold nights by the bonfire.

Pets strictly not allowed inside the bungalows

Smoking is not permitted inside the bungalows

How to Get There

After Chikmagalur town, drive 10km along Tarikere Road till you reach Kaimara village. Look for the Plantation Trails sign where you have to take a left on to a mud road and continue for approximately 3 km till you reach the estate.
