It is a hill station inKarjat Tahsil and is also the smallest hill station in India. It is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 800 m (2,625 feet) above sea level. It is located around 90 km from Mumbai, and 120 km from Pune. Matheran's proximity to many metropolitan cities makes it a popular weekend getaway for urban residents. Matheran, which means "forest on the forehead" (of the mountains) is an eco-sensitive region, declared by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India. It is Asia's only automobile-free hill station. There are around 38 designated look-out points in Matheran, including the Panorama Point that provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and also the Neral town. From this point, the view of sunset and sunrise is dramatic. The Louisa Point offers crystal clear view of the Prabal Fort. The other points are the One Tree Hill Point, Heart Point, Monkey Point, Porcupine Point, Rambagh Point, and more. To stay there, there are plenty of hotels.There are a lot of Parsi bungalows. Beautiful old British-style architecture is preserved in Matheran. The roads are not metalled and are made of red laterite earth.

Inclusions: 1.TRAVEL & TRANSPORT All travel & transport from the place of pick-up in Mumbai up to the base village & back to Mumbai (to the place of pick-up). Typical transport includes dedicated Air Conditioned vehicles either jeeps or bus depending on the group strength. Dedicated transport allows necessary freedom to stop on the way to soak in the views, culture, take pictures or for simple conveniences of nature’s call. (NOTE: The type of transport & travel convenience may vary depending upon the final group size or the group dynamics.) In case of alterations of plans during the course of the trip, the extra costs of travel (if any) will have to borne by the participants. Alterations include non-participation by 1 or more individuals who do not wish to continue the trip or return back to base / start point of the journey. 2. MEALS Typical Meal Formats Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks (B,L,E) All Vegetarian. We provide for main meals along the travel & activities. While traveling meal stops may vary in grades as available like local dhabas serving local flair or small chai-shops, popular bus stops or any available restaurant / hotel serving a spread of meals / snacks. PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE TO PAY SEPARATELY FOR BOTTLEDMINERAL WATER, SOFT DRINKS, NON-VEGETARIAN DISHES,EXOTIC MEALS OR MEALS AT EXCLUSIVE / HIGH GRADERESTAURANTS. While at campsites / trekking, we serve freshly cooked vegetarian-only meals. We may also order meals prepared by local folks. This adds flavour to the experience and supports local communities. 3. EXPERTISE At least one guide accompanies you for your trip. A typical client to staff ratio is 6:1 but may vary depending upon the level, type of activity, demands of the activity. Technical support wherever required. Limited porterage & onsite help to carry group gear if required. Extra porterage will cost extra depending upon the task, load and the destination, and will have to be borne by the participant. 4. GEAR Use of all gears wherever required, for the activities. 5.
