Haridwar is a sacred territory where pilgrims come from across the world. It is among the most revered pilgrimage centers of India which occupies a prized position in hearts of Hindus. The meaning of Haridwar is 'Gateway to God'. It is set amidst calm and attractive surroundings at the foothills of the mesmerizing Himalayas. It is believed in the Hindu traditions that one must visit Haridwar at least once in a lifetime.

Hari ki Pauri: Holy ghats are named after the Charan (Footprints) of Hari (God Vishnu) impressed on a stone, set into the upper wall of the ghats.

Rishikesh has been a small part of the legendary 'Kedarkhand', which is at present as known as Garhwal. Legends state that Lord Rama did penance here for killing Ravana, the demon king of Lanka and Lakshmana, his younger brother, crossed the river Ganges, at a point, where the present 'Lakshman Jhula' bridge stands in the present day, by a jute rope bridge.

Triveni Ghat: To be found in the heart of town, is the most famous bathing ghat, where most pilgrims take a holy dip earlier than they visit the various temples.

Rishikund: Close to the Triveni Ghat is the very old place of Rishikund where the Saint Kubz is said to have been blessed by the Goddess Yamuna, who filled the pond with her water.

Lakshman Jhula: 2 kilometers from Swarg Ashram, is the well-known Lakshman Jhula a suspension bridge 450 feet long and built in 1939.
