About the Activity

Gouri Farms is a 6-acre organic farm situated two Kms from Gudalur Town. We grow vegetables, coffee and mushrooms. There are cows, chicken, ducks and other fowl. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides are used. Manure is made by vermi-composting. There is a bio-gas plant, the slurry being used as manure. Many traditional preparations like panchakavya are used in the farm.

We invite our guests to observe daily farm activities such as milking the cows, feeding the animals, tending the fields and cultivating mushroom. Cows are milked between 7 and 8 AM and again between 4.30 and 5.30 PM. Animals are fed soon after.

Ask us for a tour and we’d be glad to explain how things work. Your children will enjoy being part of a working farm.
You can also plant a tree and come back every year to see how it has grown!

Inclusions & Exclusions

Day trips at local places could be arranged at extra cos

Cottages have a master bed room with 2 beds and an attached toilet. A smaller bed room, also with 2 beds has no attached toilet. There is a drawing–cum–dining room, kitchen, service area and a second toilet with bath.

The kitchen is provided with a gas stove and utensils , should you feel like cooking a meal yourself. One of the cottages has a refrigerator and microwave.

The Farm House is rustic old house with large verandas has two double bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a two bedroom suite with bathroom.

A geyser for hot water, clean and safe drinking water, TV and parking space are provided.

A Double bedroom is adjacent to the cottage. It has a sit out and an attached bathroom. This is a basic room and has no Television or cooking facilities.

A sumptuous complimentary breakfast with a choice of Continental and South Indian food cooked at home by the hosts will be served.

There is a play ground in the front, swings and trees that children can climb.

SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED inside the rooms.

HARD LIQUOR consumption is not allowed on the premises.

Meals can be provided in extra charge

Check in time is 12 Noon and the check-out time is 11 AM.

How to Get There

Gudalur is located on the Mysore- Ooty road, 110 Kms from Mysore and 50 Kms form Ooty. If you are driving from Kerala, it is 45 Kms from Nilambur.
