6 Days "Valley of Flowers Trek"Detailed DescriptionAbout the Activity: Day-1 : Drive from Haridwar Rishikesh to Joshimath (250 kms.; 9 hrs.) : Arrival at Haridwar Railway station then drive from Haridwar to Rishikesh is along Ganga River with the most scenic countryside of Garhwal Himalaya. The well laid out mountain road winds itself past some of the popular towns and villages of this region such as Shrinagar, Ruderprayag, Karanprayag and , Nandprayag, Chamoli and Pipalkoti. Starting early we get to Joshimath by evening. Overnight stay is in a Himalayan house (Himalayan Abode) Day-2 : Drive from Joshimath to Govindghat (1828 mts./22 kms.; 2 hrs.) and trek to Ghangeria (3 hours) : A less than hour drive along the Alaknanda river brings us to Govindghat. From here our trek starts. On a given day there are hundreds of Sikh pilgrims headed for the Shrine at Hemkund, and alighting from our jeeps we join this joyous group heading up to Ghangaria. The ascending mule track climbs past terraced fields and vegetation to the hamlet of Pulna (3 km). From here the trail is a little wilder and more forested, with occasional glimpses of snow peaks. The 7 kms. from Pulna to Bhyundar Village are a steady ascent and the altitude is moderate. Shortly after Bhyundar, the trail crosses the Laxman Ganga, over a bridge elevated by giant boulders. The trail is steeper now but Ghangaria is only 3 km. away. Our campsite is beyond Gangharia in a relatively isolated area. Day-3 : Day visit to Valley of Flowers :morning early breakfast trek start to VOF Valley Of flowers Longstaff and Frank Symthe for the outside world discovered this enchanting place by sheer chance in 1931, through local villagers of Bhundar valley knew it as Nandakanan since time immemorial, they feared venturing into the valley, because of the sprits and fairies that were thought to be hunting the beautiful valley. They feared that the sprits would carry them away.More than thousand varieties of flower, ferns, and Himalayan herbs grow in valley. The most beautiful of all Himalayan flower, the blue Primula can be seen blooming in thousand in the valley. The best time to see the valley in full bloom is mid-July to mid- August. To reach the valley one has to trek from Govind Ghat on the route to Hemkund Sahib, up to Ghangaria, 12 km ahead. few furlongs ahead of Ghangaria the trek route to the valley takes a detour towards the left. The valley is at a distance 5 km from Ghangaria. Day-4 : Gangharia to Hemkund and back to Gangharia (4329 mts./6 kms.; : Hemkund is a special place and a "must see". Situated at a height of 4329m, the place has a lake on whose banks are a Lakshman Temple and a Gurudwara of Guru Govind Singh. Guru Govind Singh is revered by Sikhs, Hindus and others and over the years Hemkund has acquired international acclaim. Day-5 : Gangharia to Govindghat (3 hours)and Drive to Badrinath - Joshimath : We follow the same track and return to Govindghat, where we board a waiting jeep that drives us to Badrinath – after Pooja and Darshana back to Joshimath and overnight stay in a Home stay Himalayan Abode Day-6 : Joshimath to Rishikesh (270 kms./ 10 hrs.) tour end Inclusions & Exclusions: Inclusions: 01- All land transfer as per above on the given itinerary with INNOVA 02- Conservation entry permits fees. 03- Hotel accommodation during the trekking journey. 04- Fully escorted trek with license holder local trekking guide (From Joshimath to Joshimath) 05- All program according to itineraries on full board. 06- Attractive salaries, wages, equipment and other facilities to Uttaranchal trekking staffs. 07- Insurances for the guide We will show you a special video documentary’ / film each required various tours.
