About the Activity:

     In Kullu Valley, white water rafting can be enjoyed in the river Beas, during May and June because the water level is appropriate with safe rapids and rafting is more adventurous and full of fun. However rafting is also done during mid September to mid October but not during rains and winters.

     Trips generally start at Pirdi and continue 16 km down to Jhiri. White Water river- rafting facilities are offered by private operators at Pirdi near Kullu where a water sports centre has been set up to provide one stop water sports adventure experience for the tourist. Rafting is done on stretches of the River Beas, where rapids of high grades can be negotiated safely, providing an exhilarating experience for enthusiasts.

     Rafting begins at around 10:00 Hrs in the morning at Pirdi and lasts for a few hours

 While rafting the following items are suggested to be carried along:

For rafting – Shorts, T-shirt and floaters are best. No tight jeans and sarees please.

For Changing – one set of uniform, socks, bathing suit/trunks, outdoor/sports shoes, sunglasses, etc.

For cloth changing – At end point Rs. 10/- per person extra isbeing charged bt the owner who provides bathroom facility.
