Abhyanga Massage - Full body massage

Abhyanga or Synchronised massage subdues the ageing and degeneration process. A therapy pioneered as per the ancient Ayurvedic classics; its rhythmic motion helps to relieve joints and muscles from stiffness and makes all body movements free. This stimulating treatment increases blood circulation, which in turn encourages quick removal of metabolic wastes, while providing relief for anxiety, fatigue, circulatory disorders, rheumatic and arthritic problems, backaches and injuries.

Shirodhara

Derived from the Sanskrit words shira 'head' and dhara 'flow'; Shirodhara was developed in Kerala, India for use in restorative therapy. This therapy relieves stress and strain related problems, slows the aging process, improves memory and is known to have a curative effect for hypertension and other neurological malfunctions. It also bestows better vision, hearing, clears nasal problems and calms the body and mind.

Njavarakizhi

A special Ayurvedic full-body massage therapy is one of the traditional forms of Astavaidya. Boluses of njavara rice with medicinal value are cooked in milk, healing herbs and Kashaya or Kashayam (herbal decoctions) and then filled into cotton bags. It is a procedure by which the whole body or a specific part is made to perspire causing delicate skin sweating that helps to get rid of unwanted toxins. Massage is initiated by the application of oil to the head and body. Subsequently a special massage technique is administered on the body and the bags are dipped into warm herb milk during the same. The temperature of applied mixture heats individual muscle parts and joints. After the massage, all the boluses bags are opened and the remaining pudding is taken and applied to the body. The pudding sticking to the body is then removed by scrapping with coconut palm leaves and oil on the head is removed by gently wiping with a dry cloth. This therapy is one of the best for rejuvenation and is made use in convalescence period of injury and trauma, also for arthritis, general weakness, paralysis, pains related to the joints and sore muscles. Njavarakizhi is a nourishing and revitalizing treatment that reduces gauntness of the muscles and builds an improved immune system, it also helps augment the lustre and texture of the skin.
