The captivating and beautiful Chinaman waterfall, lies towards the south of the Koyna Valley, in the beautiful hill station of Mahabaleshwar.

A tour of this hill station is incomplete without visiting this beautiful falls. The waterfall is located on the Carviali Road, and the Tiger Path Road is the best way to access these waterfalls. Some tourists also access the waterfalls through the Babington Point.

The waterfall cascades down from a height of 500 feet in to a deep valley. The waterfall flows from two different points and merges in to a single stream. Positioned at the top of the Venna Valley, the calm surroundings and the exotic waterfalls render a perfect holiday spot.

Chinaman’s waterfalls got its name because once upon a time the beautiful gardens and farms in the vicinity managed by Chinese immigrants.

How to Reach

By Rail:

Mahabaleshwar is 120 km from Pune via Panchgani, and is the ideal Railway station.

The city of Pune is the normal departure point for Mahabaleshwar although Satara Railway Station (60 km) is the closest and convenient railway station.

By Road:

Mahabaleshwar is well connected by road with Mumbai and Pune, and other important cities of Maharashtra. There are private taxis and luxury buses available in addition to the Maharashtra State transport semi-luxury, luxury and ordinary buses. After the construction of a new highway, tourist can drive down to Mahableshwar, as it is only a five-hour drive from Mumbai.

Once in Mahableshwar, tourists can reach the waterfalls via Carviali Road, which are located 2.5 km away from the Mahabaleshwar city. The waterfalls can also be approached through Tiger Path Road via Babington Point.
